Yuzu Ginger Tonic

This restorative tonic is aromatic, nourishing and deliciously uplifting during the dark days of Winter. A nutritional powerhouse for skin, this blend flushes away excess water weight and nourishes the kidneys. 

Red dates boost circulation, promote healthy liver function and have a warming effect on the kidneys. Yuzu is rich in antioxidants, protecting cells from free radical damage, and promotes cardiovascular health. Ginger root has anti-inflammatory benefits and promotes digestive health.

INGREDIENTS

2 cups filtered water

1" piece of ginger, peeled and grated or finely chopped

2 red dates (jujubes) pulled apart

2 Tbsp goji berries

1/2 cup yuzu juice

Raw, local honey to taste

DIRECTIONS

Place your ginger, red dates and goji berries in a teapot or heat-proof vessel and pour over 2 cups freshly boiled water. Let it steep for 10 minutes and strain. Add yuzu juice and honey to taste and enjoy hot or cold. Serves 2.
